How Instly Scout collects, uses, and protects information.

Last updated: 12 July 2026

1. Introduction

Instly Scout ("Instly Scout", "we", "us") provides an AI-visibility auditing service at instlyscout.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and scanning tools, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to run and improve the service, including to generate your AI-visibility reports, maintain and secure your account, provide support, communicate service updates, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Scanned website data

When you submit a URL, Scout retrieves publicly available page content in the same way a search engine or AI crawler would. When you use the Instly Scout Chrome extension, it scans the browser-visible content of the page you are on. To generate your report, scanned content is processed by the third-party AI model providers we use for analysis and report generation. We use this content only to produce your report and to improve our scoring models in aggregate. We do not attempt to access password-protected areas, and we ask that you only submit sites you own or are authorised to audit.

Where applicable law requires it, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, and compliance with legal obligations.

6. Sharing & processors

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the service under appropriate confidentiality and data-processing terms, or where required by law. These include hosting and analytics providers, Stripe for payment processing, and the AI model providers that process scanned page content to generate your reports.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period unless a longer retention is required by law.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep protections current.
